Boca Raton, Florida – February 2010 – The Electrolysis Society of Florida (ESF) is gearing up for their semi-annual educational seminar, designed specifically for physicians and electrologists to further their knowledge in the field of laser hair removal and conventional electrolysis. Among the varied speakers, BodyLogicMD’s Medical Director, Jennifer Landa, M.D. will discuss the relationship between hormones and hair growth and what women and men can do to balance hormones and keep hair where they want it and eliminate it from places that they don’t.
Electrolysis refers to the removal of hair, using an electrical current. A needle-sized electrode is inserted into the hair follicle and then a small electrical current is used to sever the vascular tissue that supports hair growth. Electrolysis therapies were first developed in 1865, by an ophthalmologist, in an effort to free ingrown eyelashes with minimal scarring. In the mid 90’s, laser therapies were introduced, making hair removal safer and easier than ever before.
The semi-annual seminars are a way for electrologists to stay current, by discussing studies, trends and legislature taking place within the industry, through a variety of specialized workshops, round table discussions, board meetings and guest speakers. Anti-aging expert, Dr. Jennifer Landa will take the stage and share with colleagues what impact hormones have on hair growth – and lack thereof.
Dr. Landa of BodyLogicMD, the nation’s largest network of highly trained physicians specializing in bioidentical hormones, fitness and nutrition, will discuss the various phases of hair growth and how hormonal imbalances such as estrogen dominance, perimenopause and menopause can oftentimes lead to hair loss. Dr. Landa and the bioidentical hormone doctors at BodyLogicMD have helped tens of thousands of women and men not only prevent future hair loss, but also help to restore hair that they’ve already lost by balancing hormones.
